Miltos Manetas
Paintings From Contemporary Life
Authors: Miltos Manetas
Editor: Johan & Levi Editore
Release: february 25, 2009
Languages: english - italian
Pages: 144
Price: 48€
Publisher Johan & Levi Editore writes:
"Every electronic component portrayed bears witness to a certain period in the development of technology, implicitly marking the pace and duration of Manetas' research and immediately flagging up a 'present' and a 'past
'In his work Manetas acts as an observer of this daily phenomenon. At times he works from a 'subjective' angle, bearing witness to both our total involvement in technology, and the sense of alienation that comes from interacting with machines. Other times he takes a 'bird's eye view' to draw attention to the gestures, often underestimated or taken for granted in daily life, that man performs on machine, in a world which is lacking in concrete 'actions/ that point up to what is going on.” |

Internet Suburbia Andreas Angelidakis
Authors: Andreas Angelidakis
Editor: Damdi Publishing Company
Release: May 2008
Languages: english
Pages: 240
Angelidakis is an architect working at the intersection of digital culture and architectural production. In these parallel realities he treats the internet (eg. Second Life) as a place where ideas are born and get tested, and where new social behaviours define the way our society will develop in years to come. These experiments have a real life counterpart in his exhibition and installation design, furniture, urban planning and housing projects. Many of designs are reproduced here with the help of images, photographs and models. |

Languages: dutch - english
Pages: 192 Sold out
Met Stefan Annerel, Virginie Bailly, Stephan Balleux, Charlotte Beaudry, CUM*, Ellen De Meutter, Pieter Degand, Stief Desmet, Stef Driesen, Kati Heck, Thomas Huyghe, Wannes Lecompte, Tom Liekens, Annick Lizein, Matthieu Ronsse, Helmut Stallaerts, Oxana Taran, Nicolas Verhulst, Vadim Vosters, Cindy Wright. |
